Black ‘n White

Got a little planting today today, including this gorgeous purple-leaved Geranium. This is Geranium pratense ‘Black ‘n’ White’. I guess ‘aubergine-purple and white’ didn’t have the same ring to it! I picked it up on a recent visit to Aberglasney Gardens. It doesn’t mind a little shade, so I’ve placed it in the Comfrey Border where it will get sun for a few hours each day then the rest in light shade.

A white flower broken up with lilac veining, sitting above dark aubergine-purple, almost black looking foliage. The foliage is soft to touch and you want to stroke it.

I think as it fills out, it’s going to look really lovely against the green fence that is the backdrop to where it is planted. And I’ll be able to see it directly from my desk. It’s a gorgeous reminder of Aberglasney.

The same plant, but getting more light and you can see more of the delicate flowers and the veining within the aubergine-purple leaves.
