Buona pasqua! Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Blaue Glocke’

Once again, the Pasque flower, flowers right on time for Easter. This is my favourite Pulsatilla cultivar, and one of my most favourite plants. It’s so soft and tactile, you want to stroke it like a cat!

Looking slightly from the side, a purple hairy bell-shaped flower with orange stamens and purple pistols. It's a very soft tactile plant that you want to stroke like a cat!
A clump of the purple flowers in different stages of the flowers opening.
Looking at the back of the purple petals, with the fine white hairs covering this side of the flower.
A purple hairy bell-shaped flower with orange stamens and purple pistols. One flower is open but you can see that the unopened flower underneath it has soft white hairs, as are the stems and leaves of the flower.

Honestly, who wouldn’t want this flower in their garden?!

  1. I love it but haven’t noticed mine flowering yet. In fact, I’m not sure it’s come back after the winter, I’ll have to investigate! (And get another if it hasn’t.)
