End of month view: June 2015

A day late, but you know, it’s been HOT! The ‘flaming June’ that Jessica over at Rusty Duck Blog told me would be coming finally got there, just… It is great to have warm weather after all that cold, so I’m not complaining.

This will be a short post this month, with mainly pics. The ME isn’t good this week and I don’t have much energy, so I would rather spend what little energy I do have this week, in the garden, rather than writing about the garden!

The Long Shady Border has continued to be very lush and is a welcome sight in this warm weather. It does need some tidying/pruning in areas, so hopefully I’ll get to that in July. So here it is, at the end of June, in pictures.

  1. Looking really good…astrantias are so valuable for shade and your acer is fab too. What are the fruits?
I don't know what has happened to the weather here today: cloudy, rain, 20c max. Hardly the hottest day of the year! I spoke too soon methinks!

  2. I don't know how Jessica managed to miss the hot weather, we are not very far from her and it has been hot, hot, hot! We had plenty of thunder yesterday, but it didn't get any cooler afterwards. Walking in the garden was like stepping into an oven! Hopefully we will have some rain today.
Your garden is looking very good and your new plants are filling out and adding a real presence to the border. I hope you are resting, watching Wimbledon, it is far too hot to work in the garden!

  3. Sorry to hear that your ME has been bad this week. I hate the hot weather, it makes my nausea so much worse. However, your garden is looking great. I think I might have the same fern, do you know what it's called?

  4. Wow, it's cool that you are from Australia. Thanks for the fern name, I'm fairly sure it's the same one. Think I'm going to plant them in a border and let them reach their full size. 🙂

  5. Dear Julieanne , your garden looked very lovely by the end of June and I really like your color scheme! There are many plants that I don't know the name of, that is only one reason why it is always so interesting to have a peak into other people's gardens. I love the color of the blue geranium. Hope you are feeling better by now!
    Warm regards,
    Christina

  6. Oh, I do like your foxgloves Julieanne – nice colour. And I am hunting for white flowering plants for the shade bed in my new garden – what is the plant in photo number 11? Your shade garden looks pretty and lush and green. Here’s to a good summer in the garden, despite of ME or other FM or any other problems 🙂

  7. Funny you should ask about that primula (which is what it is) in no. 11. Because I have no recollection of ever buying a white primula like that, and it's turned up elsewhere in my garden too. I did buy some yellow cowslips which I thought these were going to be, but not so. I cannot decide if I like it there, it may be coming out and moved elsewhere…

  8. I'm quite pleased with the colour scheme, apart from the white primula I mentioned above to Helene. It's meant to be yellow! I enjoy looking at other people's gardens too. I'm a bit behind this month, but finally catching up. In fact my white primulas would suit your white garden much better!
